The album release of ‘Post-Industrial Folk vol. 1’ compiles a collection of pieces I have composed throughout the past five years. During that time I made myself my own subject of ethnomusicology and embarked on an artistic research where I have attempted to discover and question what defines my own music culture.
My debut album ‘Post-Industrial Folk vol.1’ contains the preliminary findings of those inquiries, in which I lay the foundations of my artistic vision, a vision which, using music as its main vehicle, simultaneously honours the incalculable value of my cultural heritage and navigates the disintegration of its core components; namely its natural, communal and spiritual dimensions.
The outcome is a musical collage where the combination of contemporary and traditional elements represent of what I ultimately came to conclude to be my music culture; but most importantly they evoke the struggle between an old world rooted in ancient practices and a modern globe galvanised by limitless growth, technological innovation and futuristic utopias.
